Start and Co’s pick of home design trends for 2019
Start and Co have searched across the internet and here is a summary of what is predicted for trends in your home in 2019.
Colours and Materials
It is widely predicted that 2019 will see deep emerald, sapphires and blues returning for furniture fabrics. Instagram is also ensuring that blush pinks for accessories looks like dominating home interiors also. Velvet is set to make a comeback for chairs and cushions and any home owner can easily adopt this with a quick recover of existing furniture to get the look.
Large floral patterns are set to take over wallpapers, floor coverings and bedding in 2019 but try not to make your house look like day of the triffids!

Kitchens and Metals
Almost all blogs and articles are saying that the day of copper/rosegold is coming to an end with a shift to mixing up metals is coming in. This is good news in terms of not throwing your copper additions away, just mix them up with brass and gold. Metal colours can be brought out in kitchens especially in terms of taps, handles and accessories.
Mixing it up is a dominant theme for overall kitchen design for 2019. Cupboards can be. A mix of colours and granite, wood and metal are all be mixed up in different areas of the kitchen in terms of worktops. Kitchens are becoming more cosy while staying practical.

Bathrooms
Stand alone baths! – the statement piece of bathrooms for 2019. These baths come in many modern and old style formats but they certainly form the centre piece of bathrooms for 2019. Again, the rules seem to have been somewhat thrown out of the window and ‘matching sets’ are not necessary. You can have an old style roll top bath, mixed with modern a wet room shower area and a mix of cupboard and furniture to again make the bathroom cosy.
